Classical Portrait Drawing Course
A course dedicated to all aspects of classical portrait drawing. This course is designed in such a way that the student can internalise the structure and proportions of the figure to be better able to draw and design figures from their imagination.
The course begins with the fundamental perspective drawing lessons, equipping the student with the knowledge to draw and manipulate forms in a three-dimensional space.
After that, the basic proportions of the face and head will be studied, which trains the student to turn simple geometric forms into human heads. Each part of the face such as the eyes, nose etc. are broken down into their basic structure and proportions, and the student learns to draw these from any angle.
Once the student has learned to internalise all of the information, they will then be tasked to design their own classical portraits from imagination.
Only a pencil and a sheet of paper is required for this course. No fancy digital software is required, although students are more than welcome to learn on a digital format.
